Cheryl Bigus

I live & work in Auckland, New Zealand.

There has been one thread running through my life and that is being creative. It started with photography in high school, then on to cooking and chef school.

My exploration of colour began in 2004 with my first mosaic project; replacing the tabletop on a small wrought iron table. I find my inspiration for both mosaics and photography in the natural environment.

The reason why I love mosaics so much is that I get to create with colour, for functionality and endurance, as well as for aesthetic and thought provocation. In my opinion, creating something that is enduring is the real challenge in the creation of mosaic pieces.

My other creative endeavours are growing (plants and people), food and recipe development, and refinishing furniture.

You can also find me at Cheracle.com where I am an accomplished Energy Practitioner.
